Another great HumaneOhio date!  It was an extremely busy check in process this morning---lots of changes at the last minute. But....we loaded up 47 cats onto the spay/neuter truck and that sure made me happy!  Many thanks to Lynnette, Mary Braid, Donnajb and Becky M for their help!

We checked in 47 cats!  This broke down to 17 males and 30 females. It gives me much joy to see that truck full of cats. And that people CARE and WANT to get their cats/kittens spayed/neutered.  Afterall, they have to be here by 5:30-6:00 in the morning and then pick them back up at 5:30 ish in the evening.

Our new count for 2017 is: 598 which breaks down to 357 females and 241 males!
For 2016 at this time, we were at: 366.   We are currently 232 more spays/neuters than we were a year ago!  Keep 'em coming! We aim to make a difference!  Our next HumaneOhio surgery date is September 5, which is coming up fast.

Because of 5:30 surgery check outs, we will have BOXES today at 4:00.  Come join us!

We had BOXES on Weds evening!   Many, many thanks!

Let's talk about Seymour.   I'd like to give you an update about him. Seymour has not been happy. He has been spraying out of control--even towards people. But, worse, has been his increased aggression with many of the other cats. He has even caused bite wounds and ambushing other cats in the litterbox which has led to them not wanting to be on the floor. After much soul searching and hard thinking, I have made a decision. I was put in contact with a Rescuers Rescue. This is a very private organization that helps rescues with difficult cases. They are there solely to help other rescues. I was lead in their direction and after much thought, have decided that this is what we need to do---let Seymour be placed there. He will have his own room--BIG windows, glass door, 6 x 10 size room, kuranda towers, beds and cushies and toys. He will also have exercise time in the main area. I will receive updates and if things are not happy with Seymour, I will have the decision to bring him back. I am asking for you all to trust me on this. This decision was not made lightly by me. It has gotten to the point where we also had to consider the other cats safety and happiness.  Seymour is now on his new journey--one that I feel will give him much peace and let him be the cat that he wants to be.

We now have our concrete work done and checked off the list. The A-frame feeding station (used alot in the winter) has a cement floor and a sidewalk now that leads to the other sidewalk so no more walking in the mud! Also there is a cement deck under the jungle gym inside the playground area--no more mud there either!

Take care and have a wonderful weekend!  See you at 4:00 for BOXES!  Remember, this is the last day to order the Harlequin FFRC t-shirts!  Please try and have your order here by 5:00.  Thanks!
